Privacy & Cookie Policy
What data this website uses, why, and how you can control it. Last updated: 27 October 2026.
1. Who is responsible
The controller of your personal data on this website is Georgios Kokolakis (known professionally as Yorgos Kokolakis), registered in the Greek General Commercial Registry (G.E.MI.) under EUID ELGEMI.194084727000. Contact: hello@yorgoskokolakis.com.
2. The short version
- This website has no forms, no user accounts and no comments.
- Analytics runs only to understand how the website is used, through Google Analytics 4 managed in Google Tag Manager.
- Analytics cookies are set only if you accept. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer.
- I do not sell personal data and I do not use advertising or marketing cookies.
3. Data I process and why
- Emails you send me. Your email address, name and the content of your message, used to reply to you. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before a contract and my legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). I keep them for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting business relationship, and as long as the law requires.
- Analytics data, only with your consent. Pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser information and a randomly generated identifier. Purpose: to understand and improve the website. Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and the ePrivacy rules).
- Technical logs. The servers of my hosting provider record technical information such as your IP address, the date and the page requested, in order to operate and secure the website. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Cookies and similar technologies
These are the cookies and browser storage items this website can use.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google Analytics: tells visitors apart using a randomly generated identifier. | Up to 2 years | Analytics, only with your consent |
_ga_<container ID> |
Google Analytics: keeps the state of your visit (session). | Up to 2 years | Analytics, only with your consent |
yk_consent (browser local storage) |
Remembers your cookie choice so you are not asked on every page. | 12 months | Strictly necessary, no consent needed |
The durations for the Google cookies are Google defaults and may change. I do not use advertising or marketing cookies.
5. How your cookie choice works
When you first visit, analytics storage is switched off. Choose "Accept analytics" to allow analytics cookies, or "Reject analytics" to refuse them. Both choices are equally easy. Your choice is stored in your browser for 12 months, after which you will be asked again. You can change it at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer.
This website uses Google Consent Mode in its advanced setting. Google Tag Manager loads when a page opens, but analytics storage stays denied until you accept. While it is denied, Google tags do not set analytics cookies, but they may still send limited signals to Google that do not rely on cookies, such as the page address, browser details, your consent status and your IP address as part of the connection. According to Google, these signals are used for aggregated measurement and modelling.
6. Google as a service provider and international transfers
Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager are provided by Google (Google Ireland Limited for users in the European Economic Area). Data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the EEA, including the United States, under safeguards such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses. More information is in the Google Privacy Policy.
7. How long analytics data is kept
Analytics data is kept for the retention period configured in my Google Analytics property and is then deleted automatically.
8. Google Search Console
I use Google Search Console to see how this website performs in Google Search. It provides me with aggregated search data and does not place cookies on your device through this website.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. You can withdraw your consent at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer; withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before. To exercise your rights, email me and I will reply within one month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr) or with the supervisory authority of your own country.
10. Security
This website is served over HTTPS.
11. Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
